What is Jeet Kune Do
Freedom – Adaptability – Individuality
Jeet Kune Do, or the Way of Intercepting Fist is the name that Bruce Lee gave his fighting system in 1968.
Although the founder ultimately seemed to regret naming his method as it imposed limitations, at JKDU, the name of Jeet Kune Do is used as an umbrella term to encompass the original martial arts methods, techniques, strategies and philosophies that Bruce Lee passed down through his various students, writings, movies, and other media.
JKD is both a historical preservation of a visionary’s work and also a catalyst and facilitator for self actualization.
In essence, the heart of Jeet Kune Do is a multifaceted, ever-evolving tool for self discovery and self development based within the combative arts.
